Joanne Lannin will discuss her book “Finding a Way to Play” at 2 p.m. at Kennebunk Free Library, 112 Main St. Lannin’s third book is full of stories about women who have gone to great lengths to play the game of basketball. Saco Bay Artists will hold their monthly meeting featuring artist Tammy Charles doing acrylic gouache painting at 6:30 p.m. at the Pines on Manor St., Ocean Park. A native of southern Maine, Charles is a self-taught artist whose work has won awards at many Saco Bay Art shows.

Tai Chi Chih lesson for beginners will be held at 11 a.m. at Second Congregational Church, 19 Crescent St., Biddeford. The cost is $8. For more information, call 284-7898.

Concert organist and composer Carson Cooman, composer-in-residence at Memorial Church of Harvard University, will perform at 7 p.m. at First Congregational Church of Kennebunkport, 141 North St. Admission is free. Music on the church’s historic 1854 E. & G. G. Hook organ, Opus 177, will be a prominent feature of the evening. The congregation is planning for the restoration of the historic instrument in 2017-18. Donations may be made to the Hook Organ Restoration Fund.
