One injured in accident

CORNISH — A Porter man lost control of his 2003 Ford Pickup truck on Maple Street (Route 25) in Cornish near the Parsonsfield town line early this morning.

Dwight Barron, 56, was going to work when he encountered some “black ice” on the road, which caused him to loose control around 6 a.m., according to York County Sheriff William King in a press release. The vehicle went sideways and eventually rolled over onto its side, entrapping Barron, who was alone in the vehicle.

Although uninjured, Barron was trapped in the vehicle for over an hour while Cornish Fire and Rescue extricated him using the Jaws of Life, said King. Sheriff’s deputies closed the road for over an hour while rescue crews removed Barron from the vehicle.
