Biddeford Hoops to host summer basketball camp

BIDDEFORD — The Biddeford High School boys and girls basketball teams will be hosting the Boys and Girls Summer Basketball Camp from July 16-20 at the Tiger Gym at BHS.

This camp, which is sponsored by Team Letellier of Remax Reality, will help players develop and sharpen their basic basketball skills such as shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding and defense. This is a great opportunity for players to improve their skills, work hard, make new friends and have fun in the Biddeford basketball community, according to a press release.

Along with learning the fundamentals of the sport, there will be plenty of fun activities to participate in. There will be daily prizes and end of the week awards handed out to the athletes.

There are also themed dress days that include:

Crazy Sock Day (Monday) — Wear your brightest and most colorful athletic socks.

Group Team Day (Tuesday) — Wear a colored shirt from your group team, which is based on your grade.

Kyrie Irving Day (Wednesday) — Wear your favorite arm band, leggings, or head band.

NBA Player Day (Thursday) — Wear your favorite NBA jersey or shirt.

Biddeford Day (Friday) — Wear your favorite Biddeford T-shirt or wear orange.

Those interested in signing up are encouraged to do so early, as pre-registration assures that there will be enough staff for the camp. Those who register by June 15 will receive a free customized Biddeford Hoops basketball.

Boys and girls entering grades 1-8 are welcome to register, with the fee being $75 or $125 for a two siblings. The camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to11:30 a.m. each day.
